During PBM, photons enter the tissue and interact with a certain complex (Cytochrome C, for anyone wanting to really nerd out). This interaction triggers a cascade of events that lead to an increase in cellular metabolism, and ultimately decreases pain and accelerates the healing process. It decreases inflammation, increases range of motion, and significantly reduces the amount of pain in the treatment area, after as little as one treatment!
